Hi!My name is Lindsey Shar and I am beginning my eighth year as counselorat Brookville Elementary School. I graduated from Homewood High Schooland pursued a French degree at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Aftergraduating from Berry with a BA in French and a minor in Psychology, Iworked for six years at Blankenship & Seay Consulting Group, anIndustrial/Organizational Psychology Firm as an Administrative andExecutive Assistant. During this time, I married my husband who wasteaching history at a middle school. When I got the opportunity totravel with him and his rising 8th and 9th graders to Europe, I fell in love with the idea of working with students.
Istarted my graduate studies at UAB while I was working at BSCG. Ifinished with an MA in Counseling with a concentration in SchoolCounseling in 2006. I was hired to be Brookville’s counselor, andcontinued my education at UAB where I completed the requirements for anEd.S. in Counseling in 2009. In 2012, I completed the requirements tobecome a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National BoardCertified Teacher (NBCT).
Ihave a wonderful husband and precious 3 ½ year old daughter. We like todance, play, read and watch movies together. We also like to go onoutings to the zoo, water parks and to the beach. Going to Auburn tovisit with Aubie and our friends is one of our favorite fall activitiesfor sure!
Ienjoy working with my students at Brookville in my large group guidanceclasses, small group and one-on-one moments – we have the bestchildren/young adults around! I hope to continue my growth as acounselor and as a member of the Brookville community.
